    Dorolyn affords its students the opportunity to enhance their artistry in classical, popular, christian and gospel studies, from elementary to advanced levels.

     

    The Academy's curriculum includes:

Dorolyn provides technique and performance curriculum for the communities of Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and the greater Chicago metropolitan area to a wide range of age, ethnic, educational, economic and environmental backgrounds.

 

 

 

 

Special  Features

 

 Vocal  Workshops....from the small vocal ensemble to the 200 voice choir, these (8), (12), or (16) week sessions provide the vocalists with the essential knowledge and proper technique necessary to enhance the quality, effectiveness and stamina to endure live concerts, recordings and rehearsals.

 

Artistic  development....is recommended for the professional or semi-professional singer who is actively performing publicly, preparing for recordings, concerts, and who also has a working knowledge of proper vocal technique, poise, self-discipline and performers decorum.  These sessions are designed for singers who desire excellence in marketing themselves professionally.

 

Choral Conducting workshops....are offered for current or aspiring choir directors who desire to learn organizational structure, specific duties of the music/ choir director, how to select appropriate music for your choir and the occasion, how to appropriately introduce a song....of course coupled with "hands-on" conducting.

 

Plant-a-seed in the Arts partnership....is a Dorolyn sponsored performing arts apprenticeship  program that enables young extraordinarily gifted artists to become positive, productive and engaged members of society through Arts education, work force training and implementation.  This partnership is made possible with contributions from individuals, small businesses or large corporations that want to leave the planet a better place than they found it, by investing in the strength of our communities---by investing in the mind, spirit and artistry of the young lives within those communities.   Your investment is tax-deductable
